The project is a joint venture involving the French State (Ministries in charge of National Planning and the Environment, Culture and Amenities)
and the Syndicat Mixte comprising Lower Normandy Region, the Manche département and the villages of Mont-Saint-Michel, Beauvoir and Pontorson. The Syndicat Mixte receives financial backing from the European Union, Brittany Region, the Ille et Vilaine département and the Seine-Normandie Water Board.
